Landscape photographer Adam Williams was named 2017 AIPP NSW Epson Professional Photographer of the Year at a presentation dinner at Sydney’s Darling Harbour last night.

Mr Williams says his passion for landscape photography comes from living with depression and anxiety for periods of his life. A supporter of beyondblue ““ a non-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, anxiety disorders and related mental disorders, he says one message he hopes to communicate to people suffering from mental health issues through his work is that “you’re not alone”.

This year’s awards attracted 118 entries, with a total of 680 of images submitted for judging. The awards were peer-judged anonymously over the course of two days by some of Australia’s most recognised photographers including Tony Hewitt, Steve Wise and Shireen Hammond. The AIPP Epson Professional Photography Awards are open to all professional photographers. In addition to the coveted 2017 AIPP VIC Epson Photographer of the Year Award, entries are also judged in sub-categories covering specialised forms of professional photography including: commercial, illustrative, portrait, wedding, landscape and travel.
