Nokia’s New N90 Camera-phone

January 5, 2006: 3 mobile has just launched the innovative Nokia N90 camera-phone, which features a 2-megapixel sensor and Carl Zeiss optics.
Described as offering “a breakthrough in mobile image quality”, the N90 can record both stills and movie clips and features a display that rotates through 90 degrees, putting a twist on the classic clamshell and giving greater control for picture-taking. The N90 sports dual active-matrix displays for flexibility and convenience. Both can be used for composing shots. The larger, high-definition screen rotates to provide landscape and portrait viewing formats, while the cover display can be used to read data or access messages.
Camera functions are mostly fully automatic but include a macro setting, up to 20x digital zoom and six capture scenes including Scenery, Portrait, Night and Sports. A built-in flash allows shots to be taken in dim lighting. The N90 is fitted with 31MB of internal dynamic memory and comes with a free 128 MB reduced size MultiMediaCard (MMC). Bundled Nokia XpressPrint Solution software allows users to make prints directly from the handset. Limited on-board image and video editing facilities are provided.
Other features include Bluetooth and USB connectivity, a stereo digital music player and modem for accessing the Internet via a notebook PC. A 3 email address is provided, along with access to external (POP3) email. The handset also supports 3G features such as Video Calling and the ever growing Mobile TV content available on Planet 3.
