The Museum of Sydney and Nikon Australia offer photographers the chance to win one of four Nikon digital camera packages valued at $5000 as part of the new photography exhibition Sydney now: new Australian photojournalism.

 

November 26, 2007: The Museum of Sydney and Nikon Australia offer photographers the chance to win one of four Nikon digital camera packages valued at $5000 as part of the new photography exhibition Sydney now: new Australian photojournalism.
Entries are open to all photographers and must be taken in Sydney in 2007 or 2008. They must be geotagged using Flickr to show where the picture was taken and tagged with MySydneyNow. Entrants most become members of the free online photo sharing and community website Flickr and join the MySydneyNow Flickr group. Submissions should be uploaded in JPEG format at a resolution of at least 1024 pixels on the longest side.
Three winning entries will be selected from 20 finalists on Wednesday 20 February 2008 by Sydney now curator Inara Walden, award-winning Sydney Morning Herald photographer Dean Sewell and Craig Gillespie from Nikon Australia. The public will also be able to vote on the winning entries through the online exhibition at www.hht.net.au/sydneynow. The prize winning photographs will be displayed at the Museum of Sydney between Saturday 23 February and Sunday 27 April 2008, with all 20 finalists featured in a digital display alongside the Sydney now exhibition.
Winners’ prizes include a Nikon D80 camera with 18-135mm and 70-300mm lenses (value $2299) plus a Coolpix S51 Blue 8.1MP digicam (RRP $399) for first prize; a D40x twin lens kit for second prize (RRP $1399) and a D40 plus 18-55mm lens (RRP $899) for third prize. Seventeen runners-up will each receive a copy of the Sydney Now book (RRP $45).
