Featuring a 35x optical zoom lens enhanced by a 70x Dynamic Fine Zoom function, the COOLPIX A1000 claims the highest zoom ratio in a compact camera body. The 1/2.3-inch (4.8 x 3.6 mm) type CMOS sensor provides an effective resolution of 16 megapixels with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 6400. The compact body also supports movie recording of 4K UHD/30p with wind noise reduction, with the possibility of still images being saved during movie recording. Lens shift VR stabilisation is available for still images, while movies can add electronic VR for additional steadying. The lens can focus down to 50mm at the wide angle position or approximately two metres at the tele position. Macro close-ups can be captures ay approximately one centimetre with the lens at the wide position. The COOLPIX A1000 comes with an electronic viewfinder with 1,166,000-dot resolution plus a tilting, 1,036,000-dot LCD monitor. The supplied EN-EL12 battery is rated for approximately 250 shots/charge. The camera body measures 114.2 x 71.7 x 40.5 mm and weighs approximately 330 grams.
