The Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens is a new addition to Nikon’s S-Line grade of Z lenses that reach a high performance optical benchmark.
The Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens is compatible with full-frame Nikon FX format mirrorless cameras which have adopted the new larger-diameter Z mount.
The new lens allows maximum performance from big-megapixel cameras like the 45.7 megapixel Z 7. It features a multi-focus system with fast AF and very little aberration, even for close-ups.
The Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens optics have two ED glass and four aspherical lens elements, and a Nano Crystal Coat with a newly developed anti-reflective coating called ARNEO Coat which is designed to minimise reflections.
The lens barrel has an independent focus ring in addition to the control ring. You can assign a wide range of functions via the An L-Fn button, and a lens information panel allows you to check functions without looking into the viewfinder.
Other features:
– A constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range maintains exposure settings while the zoom function is in use.
– A minimum focus distance of 0.38 m from the focal plane across the zoom range.
– Compact and lightweight body.
– Focus breathing control for movie recording and focus shift shooting.
– A control ring with quiet and smooth operation.
– Adoption of a multi-focusing system and stepping motor (STM) enables fast, quiet, and accurate AF drive with both still-image and movie recording.
– Designed with consideration to dust-and-drip resistance, featuring a fluorine coat that effectively repels dust, water droplets, grease, and dirt.
– An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism enables precise aperture control.
