Equipped with a 30 GB hard disk drive and large 6.3cm (2.5-inch) TFT monitor, The Coolwalker has an easy-to-use menu that guides the user through the process of efficient image management while on the move, without the need for a PC. Images can be viewed on the high-resolution screen with the full range of image playback functions available, such as Rotate, Zoom, Histogram and Exif shooting data. Direct transfer of stored image files to a PC, digital lab or in-house printer is provided and files can also be shared across a network or via the Internet. Nikon’s Coolwalker is compatible with all major image file formats, including JPEG and TIFF, as well as RAW NEF (Nikon Electronic Format) files from Nikon digital cameras. It has a dedicated slot for CompactFlash cards but can also accept files from other cards with suitable adapter.
The menu system stores images automatically by date and the LCD monitor allows users to search for files via a thumbnail browser. A choice of four languages is provided. Stored images can also be played back on a connected TV set and the Coolwalker can be plugged into any PictBridge compatible printer to allow selected images to be printed without a PC. The Coolwalker can operate for up to 90 minutes with its powerful rechargeable Lithium Polymer Nikon EN-EL6 battery and charger/AC adaptor (included). Full details can be found at www.maxwell.com.au.
