Featuring an effective resolution of 13.2 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom lens, the Coolpix W150 comes loaded with functions that make recording photos and movies easy for anyone. Up to 6x digital magnification at maximum resolution is available with the Dynamic Fine Zoom function. The camera is waterproof to a depth of 10 metres, able to withstand falls from as high as 1.8 metres, dustproof and cold-resistant down to -10°C. These features enable it to be used in diverse shooting situations, from the pool and beach, to underwater, outside on rainy days, at water events, in the snow or even in the sandbox at the local park. Its body is designed with a moderately curved form that makes it comfortable to hold and use, even for children with small hands. It is available in the popular basic blue and white options, as well as three new patterns; resort, flower, and orange. Buttons on the back of the camera match the pattern or colour of the camera body.

The graphical user interface (GUI) has been modified to make it easier to navigate and users can choose from five menu screen designs, as well as limiting the availability of selected camera functions. Pre-set scene modes include special settings for underwater shooting and a new Underwater face framing mode, which automatically detects and captures human faces underwater. A Smile Timer function enables the camera to automatically release the shutter when it detects a smile on a human subject’s face.

Direct connection to SnapBridge is possible with built-in Wi-Fi and low-energy Bluetooth connections for automatic transfer of images to a smart device. An Exchange Messages function allows one of the camera’s users to communicate with another by recording and attaching voice messages to photos.

The Coolpix W150 is scheduled for local release in May. For more information, visit the Nikon Australia website.
