July 12, 2011: The new AF-S Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G, a DX-format Micro lens is due to go on sale in Australia from 25 August at an RRP of $499.
Weighing only 235 grams, this compact lens has a built-in Silent Wave Motor autofocus drive and provides two focus modes: M/A (auto-focus with manual override) and M (manual). The bright and fast 40mm f/2.8 enables shooting as close as 0.163m for capturing life-size images, while providing an adequate working distance from subjects. It covers an angle of view of 38 degrees 50 minutes and has seven rounded diaphragm blades to ensure smooth bokeh.
The new lens will be supplied with a 58mm snap-on front lens cap, HB-61 bayonet hood and CL-0915 lens pouch. Full details can be found at www.mynikonlife.com.au.
