September 15, 2010: Concurrent with the release of details of the D7000, Nikon has also unveiled two new Nikkor lenses and a new addition to its Speedlight flash line-up.
The two new lenses added to the Nikkor line-up are both designed for Nikon FX-format DSLRs (but also usable on DX models). The AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G is a fast (f/1.4 maximum aperture) prime lens producing superior image quality. Featuring Nano Crystal Coat, sharp and natural rendering and improved manual focus drive mechanism, this is an ideal lens for landscapes, night landscapes and night skies. It is due to go on sale from mid November.

The AF-S Nikkor 200mm f/2G ED VR II is a fast telephoto lens that is ideal for shooting indoor sporting events, theatre scenes or other dimly lit situations. It features an additional Super ED lens element, the latest vibration reduction function (VR II) and Silent Wave Motor (SWM) AF drive system. This lens will be offered in stores from early October.

Nikon has also introduced a new compact-sized flash unit, the Speedlight SB-700. Smaller than the SB-600, it is easy to use and offers multiple functions for light control, including a new quick wireless mode. The GN for this flash is 28 (ISO 100/metres). Coverage is up to 20 metres. It due to go on sale from late November.
