Nikon has ceased production of its Nikon 1 line of interchangeable-lens mirrorless cameras and moved the products to the ‘Old Product’ pages on its Japanese website
This move is not surprising since no new cameras have been added to the series for more than three years and no new lenses since March 2014. Cameras and lenses may still be available in some retail outlets but, according to Nikon guru, Thom Hogan (https://www.sansmirror.com/newsviews/the-nikon-1-discontinuance.html), the factory in China that makes Nikon 1 products began closing last year.
There have been strong rumours hinting that Nikon is developing high-end mirrorless cameras with suggestions that two ‘full frame’ models could be announced at the end of this month ““ or at least well before Photokina in September.
