October 14, 2010: Nik Software has released a completely new High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging solution for professional photographers and serious enthusiasts.
HDR Efex Pro overcomes limitations in other software products with multiple tone mapping algorithms that enable realistic and artistic results to be created entirely within a single tool. Control options include single-click visual style presets, as well as global adjustments to exposure, contrast and fine detail rendition. Four tone-mapping algorithms, enable customised HDR ø¢â‚¬Ëœlooks’ to be created and adapted to a particular HDR style of photography.
Nik Software’s proprietary U Point technology allows photographers to fine-tune selective adjustments with a single mouse-click, eliminating the need for complicated selections or layer masks. Finishing adjustments, such as vignette controls and levels and curves adjustments are also provided. In addition, photographers can reprocess a single image to create the HDR look when an exposure series was not recorded or where the original subject was unsuitable for multiple exposures.
Introductory videos, free trial versions and live online training for HDR Efex Pro can be found at www.niksoftware.com/hdrefexpro. HDR Efex Pro is available now for electronic and boxed delivery directly from Nik Software (www.niksoftware.com). HDR Efex Pro installs as a 64-bit plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Windows only) and CS5 (Windows and Macintosh), and as a 32-bit and 64-bit plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.3 or later (Windows and Macintosh) or Apple Aperture 2.1 or later (Macintosh).
