December 14, 2011: Tokina has released a new 17-35mm wide-angle zoom lens that is designed for ‘full-frame’ Nikon and Canon cameras.
The Tokina AT-X 17-35mm f/4.0 FX lens provides a 103.9 degree field of view at the 17mm focal length and maintains a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout its entire zoom range. The optical design consists of 13 elements in 12 groups and includes one aspheric glass element plus two Super-Low Dispersion glass elements to minimise aberrations. The proprietary One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism allows the photographer to switch between AF and MF simply by snapping the focus ring forward for AF and back toward the lens mount for manual focusing.
The new lens is designed to withstand the rigors of daily use in a wide variety of shooting conditions and environments and features improved sealing around moving parts to improve water-resistance. Minimum focusing distance is 27.9 cm to provide a reproduction ratio of 1:4.82. Nine diaphragm blades ensure attractive bokeh. The lens weight 600 grams and is 94 mm long.
The Tokina AT-X 17-35mm f/4.0 FX lens is available now for an RRP of $1199. For more information, visit www.adeal.com.au.
