August 13, 2008: Two new models will be added to Sony’s T-series of Cyber-shot digital cameras next month.
The Album T (DSC-T700) and T Slim (DSC-T77) are even more sophisticated than their predecessors, with advances in image capture, storage, search and sharing capabilities. Both models have 10.1-megapixel image sensors, Carl Zeiss 4x optical zoom lenses with Optical Steady Shot and the popular Face Detection and Smile Shutter functions.
The Album T (RRP $599) comes with 4GB of internal memory and acts as a portable photo album by holding up to 40,000 image files and displaying them on a 3.5-inch LCD touch screen. The album function includes a calendar playback menu that remembers pictures according to the date that they were taken and can also stores pictures in favourite folders. With instant search capabilities, users can quickly find a certain image by face type. This model will be offered in four slimline metallic finishes of grey, red, silver and gold.

The super skinny T Slim (RRP $429) is only 15mm wide at its thickest point and comes in black, pink, brown and silver. It sports a 3-inch touch screen and retractable Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. Both models feature Intelligent Scene Recognition, which automatically determines the optimum camera setting for every scene, provides easier operation and higher-quality results. In-camera retouching is a feature also included, along with a Scrapbook function for creating album pages.
