December 7, 2004: Epson has released a new software suite for its large format Pro Graphics printers that adds new capabilities and functionality for professional users.
Designed to aid users as diverse as architects, engineers, educational institutions, professional photographers, mini-labs, service bureaus and copy shops, the new software range includes three key applications: ZEHPlot, PageProofer and CopyFactory.
The ZEHPlot software (RRP $145) converts Epson’s Stylus Pro 4000, Stylus Pro 7600, Stylus Pro 9600 or Stylus Pro 10600UC large format printers into high-end, network CAD plotters. It is fully compatible with the most commonly used CAD file formats and enables users to print HP-GL and HP-GL/2 file formats created on MS-DOS applications. For large design offices, ZEHPlot can direct output to multiple EPSON printers simultaneously. ZEHPlot will be bundled with future sales of the Stylus Pro 4000, Stylus Pro 7600, Stylus Pro 9600 and Stylus Pro 10600UC printers, and sold separately for existing users.
PageProofer (RRP $195) is a ready-to-use proofing application that allows users to preview and organise multiple photo images prior to printing and includes batch proofing for the same image or different images with different colour profiles together. It supports colour management using ICC profiles and allows users to work with both CMYK and RGB images at the same time and proof images on either the monitor or printer. It is available for the Epson Stylus Pro 4000, Stylus Pro 7600, Stylus Pro 9600 and Stylus Pro 10600UC printers.
CopyFactory (RRP $175) is a new plug-and-play software solution for the Stylus Pro 4000, Stylus Pro 7600, Stylus Pro 9600 and Stylus Pro 10600UC printers. It acts as an interface between the Epson range of desktop scanners and large format printers, allowing users to enlarge small documents and photographs into large format documents with the touch of a button. No image quality is sacrificed in the enlargement process.
The new applications are available through authorised Epson PRO Graphics dealers. For full product specifications on these and other Epson products go to www.epson.com.au.
