September 12, 2008: SanDisk has doubled the capacity of its Extreme III CompactFlash line with the release of a new 32-gigabyte (GB) card.
Offering data transfer speeds of 30 megabytes per second (MB/s), the new 32GB SanDisk Extreme III CF card is targeted at professional digital videographers and serious enthusiast photographers who will use the next generation of cameras and high-definition camcorders. The new card provides increased capacity for longer-duration filming, and its 30MB/s (200x) read and write speeds enable users to record and transfer content quickly and reliably, thus maximising critical workflow. These complementary features make the new card especially attractive to field producers and camera crews who typically operate under tight deadlines.
All SanDisk Extreme III CF cards from 4GB to 32GB, as well as the new SanDisk Extreme III SDHC and SanDisk Extreme III Memory Stick PRO HG DUO, recently received a 50% speed increase from 20MB/s to 30MB/s. Renowned for their world-class durability, SanDisk Extreme III CF cards possess the industry’s widest guaranteed operating temperature, ranging from minus 13F (minus 25C) to 185F (plus 85C).
Worldwide availability of the 32GB SanDisk Extreme III CF card is targeted for October, with an expected Australian RRP of $463. For more information, visit www.sandisk.com.
