September 10, 2008: ViewSonic Corporation has today launched three new digital photo frames and two affordable 19-inch LCD monitors.
The new Slim Series digital photo frames come in three sizes: the 7-inch (diagonal) DPX704WH (RRP $129), the 8-inch DPX803WH (RRP$149) and the 10-inch DPX1003WH (RRP $199). Featuring white frame surrounds with a depth of less than 2.5 cm, the frames will suit locations in the home or office where space is limited. The 8-inch model only offers 4:3 aspect ratio display, while the 7-inch and 10-inch models support the widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. Each model comes with an auto rotation function which enables photos to be displayed directly from memory cards,. MP3/MP4 file support offers users the ability to view videos taken on digital camera or camcorder.
Users can view their favourite photos and videos at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and display hundreds of photos with a 128MB integrated memory and compatibility with most common memory cards. A remote control (supplied) allows users to easily control set-up, volume and slide show settings from the comfort of their lounge or arm chair. Slim Series digital photo frames also include an alarm clock and calendar features, making them ideal for bedside tables and office desks.
ViewSonic has also added two new LCD monitors to VA Series of LCD monitors, which are designed specifically for government, office and classroom use. The 19-inch widescreen VA1928wm (RRP $299) and VA1918wm (RRP $309) models offer bright, crisp images, rich colours, fast response times and high sharpness – along with a 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio – at an affordable price. Both models include ECO mode for a choice between Standard (100%), Optimise (75%) and Conserve (60%) backlight power to extend the LCD monitor life and deliver a lower TCO (total cost of ownership), through reduced power consumption. ECO mode also provides visual ergonomic benefits for prolonged display usage, and when selected, the reduced power consumption means less impact on the environment.
In an effort to provide a minimal carbon footprint, the VA1928wm and VA1918wm meet the most stringent worldwide standards for energy savings and green initiatives, including EnergyStar, RoHS, TCO’03 and EPEAT Silver certification. Both displays are Windows Vista Basic Certified, and include a thin-bezel design, built-in speakers, a VESA mount for easy wall mounting setup, integrated power supply, and a clean cable management system, and the VA1928wm also includes DVI inputs. ViewSonic LCD monitors are backed by a three-year limited warranty on parts and labour.
