Melbourne’s newest specialist photographic gallery, Photospace, opens with an exhibition titled “Different Takes” that features six of Victoria’s specialist art photographers who use alternative and traditional photographic processes and techniques.
May 15, 2007: Melbourne’s newest specialist photographic gallery, Photospace, opens with an exhibition titled “Different Takes” that features six of Victoria’s specialist art photographers who use alternative and traditional photographic processes and techniques.
Representing progress in photography from 1830s to the present, the show will include works created with processes such as Cyanotype, Vandyke Brown, Gum Bichromate, Bromoil, Photogravure, Gum oil and Polaroid transfer. Exhibiting photographers include Wendy Currie, Silvi Glattauer, Karena Goldfinch, Christine Lim, Lynette Zeeng and John P. Pollard, all of whom are recipients of numerous awards for their work in Australia and abroad. The exhibition will be opened at 5.00pm on Saturday 26th May by noted photographer, Joyce Evans. All are welcome to attend. PhotoSpace is located at 34 Dight Street, Collingwood and opens Wednesday to Friday 12 to 6pm, Saturday 12 to 4pm. The show will close on Sunday 10 June 2007.
