Olympus has released the Mju 410 digicam, which features a 4-megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens and all-weather sound recording. The new model has an RRP of $699 and is available in silver, with a limited number of units also being supplied in Ocean Blue and Ice Blue colours. The camera is made from special materials, with an optimised construction that prevents water penetration and allows it to be used on beaches or in the rain. It features a new TruePic TURBO image processor which produces high image quality, reduced noise and fast processing speeds plus a semi-transmissive LCD monitor that makes it easy to view the screen outdoors in bright light. Three new Scene Program Modes – Beach & Snow, Cuisine and Indoor – have been added to the standard menu of Portrait, Night Scene, Landscape Portrait, Landscape, and Self Portrait modes. The Mju 410 also supports a Super macro setting that focuses down to 9cm, plus iESP II auto White Balance and pre-sets for daylight, overcast, tungsten light and three kinds of fluorescent light (daylight, white daylight, and white). In-camera shooting and editing functions include a 2-in-1 function that automatically combines two shots taken in succession into a single split-screen image plus support for monochrome and sepia image creation, and image resizing and image rotation.
