March 20, 2007: Several new Manfrotto tripods have just been released in Australia offering some innovative design concepts that will appeal to a wide range of photographers.
Newly re-designed the 190X is available in two models: the 190XPROB and the more compact, lighter 190XB. Both feature Manfrotto’s patented horizontal centre column, which can be swung around to the horizontal position without removing the tripod head or disassembling the column itself. This enables photographers to switch between portrait and landscape formats easily and quickly and provides greater flexibility for positioning the camera, Improvements have also been made to the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks. Both models are made from aluminium, which is robust and light weight and both feature three adjustable leg sections.

Key features of Manfrotto’s 190X tripod.
Light weight, versatility and ease of use are features of Manfrotto’s Modo tripods, which suit both still and video cameras and are ideal for travellers. The Modo Maxi 785B folds to a compact 43.5 cm size, while the Modo Mini 785SHB can be collapsed down to 36.5 cm yet still stands tall at a maximum height of 114 cm with the column extended. The new Modo ‘Hybrid’Photo & Video Head provides easy and comfortable positioning of the camera and can be switched between the two modes at the turn of a dial. In the photo mode the head movement covers all positions, allowing photographers to quickly shoot up, down, left, right, vertically and horizontally. In the video mode the head becomes a traditional video head with a pan-handle. The lock button is positioned in line with the hand to easily compose, lock and shoot.
