Three new models have been announced in Kata’s Orbit DL series of lightweight messenger-style camera bags.

 

December 20, 2011: Three new models have been announced in Kata’s Orbit DL series of lightweight messenger-style camera bags.
Measuring 40 x 17 x 28.5 cm and weighing only 650 grams, the Orbit 110 DL (RRP $125) can hold a DSLR with standard lens attached plus accessory flash, or a compact camcorder with accessories. It also has space for an iPad or netbook. The Orbit 120 DL (RRP $145) is slightly larger (42 x 17 x 30 cm) and weighs 725 grams. It can accommodate a DSLR with standard lens attached plus an additional lens and accessory flash. Alternatively, there is space for a compact camcorder with accessories and a laptop with up to 15.4-inch screen.

The Orbit 130 DL (RRP $165) is the largest model, measuring 49 x 17 x 33 cm and weighing 1.57 kg. It has space for a DSLR with long range zoom lens attached and two additional lenses plus flash and accessories or will hold a compact camcorder with accessories and a laptop with up to 17-inch screen. The Orbit 110 DL is due for release on 6 January, 2012; the other bags are on sale now.

All three bags can be converted into general-purpose satchels when not carrying a camera. The unzip and flip shoulder strap allows these bags to be swung around for carrying on the wearer’s back when biking.
