The FinePix HS30EXR is the latest addition to Fujifilm’s HS range of ‘bridge’ cameras that combine SLR styling with advanced photographic functions.
Featuring a new 1/2-inch type (6.4 x 4.8 mm) 16-megapixel EXR-CMOS sensor and Fujinon 30x manual optical zoom the HS30EXR can record 1080p Full HD movies at 30 frames per second (fps) and delivers high sensitivity with low noise for movies captured in low lighting. Its tilting 3-inch monitor has a resolution of 460,000 dots and a Sunlight Mode for outdoor use. A bright electronic viewfinder is also provided.
The 30x zoom lens covers the equivalent of 24-720mm in 35mm format. A super macro shooting mode is available and manual zoom control is now faster and more precise. The Intelligent Digital Zoom function doubles the focal range, delivering a 60x zoom with a maximum telephoto setting of 1440mm. Dual image Stabilisation combines a mechanically stabilised CMOS sensor with high ISO sensitivities for total anti-blur protection.
The improved EXR CMOS sensor in the FinePix HS30 provides more versatility, particularly in low light conditions. When shooting in EXR Auto Mode, the camera recognises each scene and configures the appropriate setting. Three manual options are also available; High Resolution Priority for optimal image quality, High ISO & Low Noise Priority for low light conditions, and Dynamic Range Priority which captures two photos and combines them to provide a wide dynamic range of up to 1600%.
The FinePix HS30EXR supports raw and JPEG file formats, with simultaneous RAW+JPEG capture available. Panoramas can be recorded with fine detail, low noise and high resolution at 180-degree, 240-degree or full 360-degree panoramic ranges. A full complement of sophisticated manual and semi-automatic shooting modes and photographic control is available. Movie files (.MOV) are captured with H.264 high profile compression. A High Speed Movie option enables capture at 320 fps for slow motion playback. Other features include Super Intelligent Flash, Multi-Bracketing, Face Recognition, Face Detection, Automatic Red-Eye Removal and Purple Fringing Reducer / Corner Resolution Enhancer.
Dedicated command buttons are provided for quick and easy key functions such as ISO, white balance, focus and metering. The large command dial, manual focus ring, twist and zoom lens barrel and deep hand grip ensures the camera handles well.
