August 4, 2005: The first mainstream film in the world to be shot with the JVC GY-HD101E ProHD cameras is currently in production in Australia.
Starring Paul Mercurio (Strictly Ballroom) and Dieter Brummer (Home and Away) and directed by Geoff Cox, “Reality Check” will be shot entirely in HD format and on location on the Gold Coast. The new Australian movie has been described as a kind of “Survivor gone wrong” story. Production company, Cox’s Tempo Pictures, secured the first GY-HD101E ProHD cameras to be released locally in time to meet the start date. Cox’s production company is an independent Australian operation that is fast building a reputation for developing high quality commercial feature films, high-end commercials and corporate videos. The company will also use JVC’s BRHD50E ProHD editor and DT-V1700E HD monitor in the creation of the movie.
