Light matter, a group exhibition featuring works by eight Sydney-based artists, will open at the Australian Centre for Photography on 24 August and run until 26 October, 2019.

Curated by Ellen Dahl and Yvette Hamilton, these works include images from Dean Cross, Ellen Dahl, Lucas Davidson, Yvette Hamilton, Elena Papanikolakis, Ioulia Terizis, GarryTrinh and Amanda Williams. They were selected for their innovative approach to lens-based processes and materiality, including analogue, digital, hybrid and camera-less formats. Coinciding with the exhibition will be a forum at the University of Technology Sydney from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on Saturday, 24 August, bringing together artists, curators and academics to discuss the nuances of contemporary lens-based practice in Australia.
