July 26, 2010: Next month will see the release by Canon of five new printers that can print frames from Full HD movies shot with Canon digital cameras.
Consisting of the multi-function
and single-function iP4850 models, the new range provides improved useability plus better print quality. Canon’s Easy-PhotoPrint EX software has been upgraded to enable images to be searched for and used from Flickr, providing added flexibility to users interested in printing high-quality photos, albums, calendars and layouts from PCs without having to launch their internet browser.
Auto Photo Fix II, which helps correct common photo errors, has been improved as well with enhanced light source recognition and colour cast correction. Upgrades to the Easy- Windows-only WebPrint EX software include a new Fit-to-One-Page button for easy printing of texts and images from websites. This new software also allows the printing of multiple documents into a booklet format.
The PIXMA MG5250 and MP495 wireless all-in-one photo printers feature five individual ink tanks with the ChromaLife100+ ink system. The MG5250 has a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi and can create a 4 x 6 inch borderless photo in approximately 20 seconds. It also features Advanced Media Handling capabilities with Auto Duplex printing and a two-way paper feed plus a 2.4-inch TFT colour screen and newly redesigned user interface. The MP495 has a maximum colour resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi and can produce a snapshot print in approximately 41 seconds.
The new Canon PIXMA MG5150 and MP280 all-in-one photo printers also feature the ChromaLife100+ ink system. The MG5150 has a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi and features the same Advanced Media Handling options as the MG5250. The MP280 has a maximum colour resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi and can produce a snapshot print in approximately 43 seconds.
The PIXMA iP4850 is a single-function model that features five individual ink tanks with the ChromaLife100+ ink system. It can produce a snapshot print in approximately 20 seconds and supports a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi. The new PIXMA printers incorporate Canon’s FINE print head technology and comply with the ISO/IEC 24734 and 24735 International Standards for measuring print and copy speed.
