Canon Australia has launched a new range of PIXMA inkjet printers and smart scanners, including the PIXMA TS9560 Series, its first A3 inkjet All-In-One printer.

Designed for business or home office use, the PIXMA TS9560 Series has a compact footprint comparable to an A4 printer but can produce prints up to A3 size. It uses five individual inks with a claimed 100-year album life and includes Canon’s FINE printhead technology. Other features include an intuitive 10.8cm touchscreen and an oversized copy feature to manage A3 documents with ease as well as seamless Wi-Fi connectivity. It is also compatible with AirPrint (iOS) and Mopria (Android) for direct printing from smart devices. It is due for release in November 2018.

Versatile and compact the PIXMA TS8260 Series offers seamless wireless connectivity and enabling high-quality photo printing. With six individual inks, including Photo Blue, users can print borderless photos up to A4 size and comes with a 10.8cm touchscreen and a multipurpose tray. This printer also offers connectivity to the PIXMA Cloud Link via the Canon PRINT app (iOS/Android) and is capable of printing at up to 15 images per minute (ipm) mono and 10 ipm colour. It also features a 2-way paper feed designed for practical flexibility, along with optional XL and XXL cartridges to help cut costs while printing more. It will go on sale this month.
The PIXMA TR6260 Series and PIXMA TR4560 Series are designed for general use and include family-friendly functionality. The TR6260 includes a dedicated pigment black ink for keeping black text sharp. The TR4560 is an office model that can copy, scan and fax multiple page documents with the 20-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and offers seamless wireless connectivity to smart devices and various Cloud facilities. Both printers are due for release this month.
The new printers are compatible with Amazon Alexa and respond to voice commands via an Amazon Echo or other Alexa-enabled device. Voice activation also allows users start the printer, produce a print and confirm their printer’s status, such as remaining ink levels. The PIXMA TS8260 and TS9560 Series printers also support a new range of fun print media includes creative nail stickers, which will be available with the dedicated Nail Sticker app available for iOS and Android from late November 2018.

Canon is also releasing two new scanners this month: the CanoScan LiDE 400 and the CanoScan LiDE 300. The LiDE 400 supports up to 4800 x 4800 dots per inch (dpi) resolution and enhanced processing speeds that allow 300 dpi colour A4 scans to be made in just eight seconds. Its double-hinged Z-Lid extends up to 21mm for scanning books, magazines and other bound documents. Combining Auto Scan detection, Document Fix, Auto Photo Fix and LiDE technology, the LiDE 400 can automatically apply settings to make simple work of any scanning task.
The LiDE 300 is a lightweight A4 flatbed scanner with a top resolution of 2400 x 4800 dpi and a scanning time of 10 seconds for an A4 print at 300 dpi. Canon’s streamlined EZ buttons provide simple operation for scanning to PDF or email, with the ability to copy or initiate Auto Scan without going through complex menus. Auto Document Fix and Auto Photo Fix functions provide instant document recognition saving time and effort.
