Two new models, the Ixus 200 IS and Ixus 120 IS will be added to Canon’s Ixus line-up next month.

August 19 2009: Two new models, the Ixus 200 IS and Ixus 120 IS will be added to Canon’s Ixus line-up next month.
The Ixus 200 IS is the first in the range to feature a 3-inch interactive LCD touch-screen as its main user interface. Simply touching the monitor allows users to browse menu options for different shooting modes and flash settings and review and share images. With Touch Auto Focus, users can touch the screen to select the subject they want to focus on. Thanks to subject tracking, subjects remain in focus even if they move around.

This model also includes Canon’s first 24mm (35mm equivalent) wide angle lens in a compact camera, which also offers 5x optical zoom. HD video recording is also provided. The Ixus 200 IS boasts a 12.1-megapixel image sensor and DiG!C 4 image processor. Other features include optical image stabilisation, an Intelligent Auto mode with Intelligent Contrast Detection, Blink Detection and a top ISO setting of 1600.
The super-slim Ixus 120 IS features a 28mm (35mm equivalent) wide-angle lens with 4x optical zoom. This 12-megapixel camera is only 20mm thick and weighs just 120 grams (without battery and memory card. Like other recent Ixus models it includes Canon’s TruCapture technology and offers HD movie recording at 1280 x 720 pixels, using the efficient H.264 codec. It boasts a 2.7-inch LCD monitor and will be offered in silver, black, blue and brown.
