The new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM general-purpose lens combines a versatile focal length range with four-stop optical image stabilisation. Featuring both UD and aspherical elements, the new lens provides excellent correction of common aberrations to ensure high quality throughout the zoom range. A key feature is new Nano USM which includes a more compact ultrasonic motor for smoother and quieter autofocusing, particularly in Live View mode. The new lens enables users to record steady movie footage with Dynamic IS (which is only available in movie mode) and boasts a wider stabilisation range that can support steady shooting while walking. This lens is scheduled for release at the end of April, the same time as the EOS 8D.

The new PZ-E1 Power Zoom Adapter fits onto the base of the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens (the only compatible lens to date) and is held in position with a locking lever. It is ideal for any situation where controlled zooming is required, including news and documentary shooting and when shooting movies. Slider switches on the side of the adapter allow users to select between slow and fast zoom speeds and power and manual zoom control. The Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 and newsDM-E1 Microphone will be available in June 2016.
