“Vivid”, Australia’s first ever National Photography Festival, will be held in Canberra between 11 July and 12 October 2008.

February 28, 2008: “Vivid“, Australia’s first ever National Photography Festival, will be held in Canberra between 11 July and 12 October 2008.

The festival aims to celebrate the vital role of photography in Australian life and history. One hundred exhibitions will go on display in fifty venues during the festival, with a special focus on photographic exhibitions by several of the national collecting institutions. An exciting program of Festival events will include the projection of photographic images on to the exteriors of buildings, folio nights when Australia’s photographers will be able to show their work to buyers from Canberra’s collecting institutions, award ceremonies for both professional and amateur photographers, a trade show, master classes, seminars, talks and tours.
