Fujifilm has announced it will cease production of a number of its traditional silver halide (AgX) film products before the end of this year.
The affected films are: Superia 400, Superia X-Tra 400, Superia Venus 800 and Natura 1600. Production of Fujicolor Pro 160 sheets for both 4 x 5 and 8 x 10 formats will be discontinued entirely, starting from this month. The cuts to the film packs mostly affect multi-packs, rather than the films themselves. The end results will be that photographers will no longer have access to price-reducing multi-packs and will have to pay more for individual films.
