According to a report in PMA International’s Newsline, the agreement covers digital cameras made by Pentax as well as a broad range of other consumer products each company manufactures and sells.

May 14, 2008: Microsoft has signed a patent cross-licensing agreement with the Pentax Imaging Systems Division of Hoya Corporation to further develop each company’s current and future product lines.

According to a report in PMA International’s Newsline, the agreement covers digital cameras made by Pentax as well as a broad range of other consumer products each company manufactures and sells. Details of the agreement have not been disclosed but both parties indicated Microsoft is being “compensated” by Pentax.
