ADAPT 2006 (Australian Digital Art & Photographic Technology show), will open on 13 July at the Melbourne Park Function Centre and present the latest in digital capture and printing technology.

June 28, 2006: ADAPT 2006 (Australian Digital Art & Photographic Technology show), will open on 13 July at the Melbourne Park Function Centre and present the latest in digital capture and printing technology.

The show, which runs from 13-15 July and is open between 10 am and 5 pm, aims to allow professionals engaged in the capture and reproduction of photographic and art images to see the very latest in equipment, media and techniques. ADAPTs Platinum sponsor, Epson who is showcasing Matt Hoyle’s Yesterday in America exhibition of large format prints all made on Epson inkjet printers using K3 Ultrachrome inks. Canon will be conducting all-day workshops in a working art reproduction studio it has set up at ADAPT, using its 16.3-megapixel EOS 1D camera to acquire the images and a range of imagePROGFAF 12-colour printers (up to 60-inches wide) for reproduction. Leading digital printing equipment and media supplier, DES, once again has a big presence at ADAPT. DES’s specialist trainer, David Crowther, will once again share his advanced colour management knowledge with ADAPT delegates in a free workshop.

High-quality digital cameras and camera backs from Canon, Hasselblad, Pentax, Phase One, Nikon, Kodak/Leaf and others will be on display this year. There will also be demonstrations showing how these CCD and CMOS digital capture devices can be used to copy artwork for limited edition reproductions; with proper lighting and colour management. A full range of professional photographic and lighting equipment is represented by two of ADAPTs exhibitors, Borges Imaging and Kayell Australia.
