May 31, 2006: Maxwell Optical Industries has become the Australian distributor of Uniross rechargeable batteries and battery chargers and will mark the occasion with a special offer kit.

The Uniross X-press 700 kit consists of the X-press 700 slim charger, car charger connection, four each of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries and eight converters that enable users to transform the AA size battery into C and D sizes which will be 100% compatible in all applications. The average recharge time with the X-press 700 slim charger is 4 hours and 15 minutes for AA or AAA batteries.

Uniross batteries have a high capacity (2500 mAH for AA NI-MH batteries and 700 mAH for AAA Ni-MH batteries), which makes them ideal for photographic equipment. They can also be recycled and the introduction of the brand will see the establishment of a service for collecting rechargeable batteries for recycling at the end of their lives.
