DES and Chromaticity Australia have joined forces to run a series of master classes in digital photo printing, targeted at professional and serious enthusiast photographers, fine art reproducers and creatives using RGB digital output, who want to achieve predictable colour and perfect prints.

 

December 22, 2005: DES and Chromaticity Australia have joined forces to run a series of master classes in digital photo printing, targeted at professional and serious enthusiast photographers, fine art reproducers and creatives using RGB digital output, who want to achieve predictable colour and perfect prints.
The two day in-depth Digital Print Makers Master class will be held in a well equipped digital inkjet studio at the DES head office in Rhodes in Sydney and users will have hands-on experience with all the latest colour management and digital output technology. Attendees will explore the whole workflow from capture to print. Technical aspects of the colour critical workflow will include how to establish a colour managed environment, and how to make inkjet prints that match what you see on screen. Participants will also learn about colour terminology, media options, ICC profile creation, editing and checking, monitor calibration and profiling, Photoshop colour settings and workflow.
The DES studio boasts some of the most advanced equipment available for colour management professionals, including Canon and Epson wide-format (A3+ and wider) printers, X-Rite densitometers and profiling equipment, colour-accurate monitors from Quatro and LaCie, the latest version of Adobe Photoshop, GretagMacbeth iMatch and Profile Maker software and the GTI viewing system.
Course instructor and Chromaticity Australia Director, David Crowther boasts more than 30 years experience in the industry, and offers a wealth of informative, accurate and reliable colour management expertise. A digital inkjet innovator, he has worked with major photographers and publishing companies to ensure they provide accurate and predictable printing.
Course numbers will be kept low to ensure participants have the optimum opportunity to learn. A fee of $1095 (ex GST) will be charged for each participant. Early booking is advisable to secure a place. Course dates for the first half of 2006 are as follows:
