May 1, 2007: Colour quantification specialist, Master Colors LLC, has just released its HVC Color Composer plug-in for Photoshop on the Windows platform at a competitive price.
HVC stands for Hue, Value, and Chroma. Based on a method for identifying colours based on their colour (hue), intensity (value), and its saturation (chroma), the HVC Color Composer plug-in makes selecting colours much more intuitive. Used in Photoshop, it allows photographers to select colours based on their contrast with respect to another colour, using a system similar to the Munsell system. HVC Color Composer can build palettes c0ntainign complementary, adjacent and contrasting colours as well as showing how the different hues are composed of different amounts of chroma. For professional photographers it is more intuitive than other colour spaces and makes it easier to choose colours that printers can match.
HVC Color Composer is available in two versions: Professional (RRP US$129.95) and Standard (RRP US$49.95). Master Colors also offers a free online colour seminar, titled “Nirvana: 6 Lessons to Color Enlightenment,” which teaches artists how to build powerful, professional quality colour compositions rapidly.
