A week long benefit event will be held in Manly (Sydney) to raise funds for the Japanese Red Cross in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami which devastated Japan in March.

 

May 18, 2011: A week long benefit event will be held in Manly (Sydney) to raise funds for the Japanese Red Cross in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami which devastated Japan in March.
The event, which is organised by Manly Council’s Sister Cities Committee, Manly Art Gallery & Museum, Mark Donaldson Photography, Steyne Hotel and local artists will feature exhibitions at the Steyne Hotel of Japanese and Australian art, photography, sculpture and children’s art, and will include auctions of donated items with all proceeds going to the ø¢â‚¬ËœJapanese Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund’.
The benefit event will be launched at the Sky Bar, Steyne Hotel, Manly Beach at 7.00pm on Friday, 27 May. Special guests at the event will include The Consul-General of Japan, Dr Masahiro Kohara, to be accompanied by Consul, Mr Norihiro Kiyoshige, and The Director of The Japan Foundation, Ms Tokiko Kiyota.
