July 17, 2009: Local distributor, Adeal, has introduced four new Baby Lightweight Stands from Manfrotto, which provide lighting support for location and studio work.
Available in sizes that range from 240 cm to 385 cm (extended), the new stands can carry payloads between four and 10 kilograms and feature bi-injection casting that provides the photographer with a better ergonomic grip. A new air cushioning system prevents any loads from dropping unexpectedly when the handles are unlocked. A new Quick Stack System (QSS), patented by Manfrotto, allows stands to be stacked together to save space when they are being transported or stored. A special locking device enables single stands to be removed from a stack quickly without detaching other stands.

Manfrotto’s Quick Stack System (QSS) allows stands to be stacked together for easier transport and storage.
For most applications photographers will use the 1051BAC and 1052BAC models. These two stands use a technical ‘Adapto’ polymer, which was developed by Manfrotto and is 50% lighter than aluminium, for the collars and spider castings. For heavier lighting equipment or for a taller reach, the 1004BAC and 1005BAC models have rated payloads of 9 kg and 10 kg respectively.
