‘Crossings’, the November 2018 Square Print Sale, presented by Magnum Photos and Aperture Foundation, brings together a selection of more than 100 images by international artists both past and present, exploring perspectives on transition and transformation in photography. This is the second time Magnum Photos has invited a roster of artists published by Aperture to participate in the project alongside Magnum’s own photographers.

The project creates a new visual dialogue, spanning depictions of physical crossings from one side to another — a road, a river, a border, an ocean — and the personal crossings that manifest in growth, revolt, mutation and self-realisation, the voyages of the mind that have the power to spark change and transformation. For five days only, these images are available as signed, or estate-stamped, 6×6” prints. The Magnum Square Print Sale in partnership with Aperture will take place at the Magnum Photos Shop. It is open from Monday, October 29, 2018, at 9AM EST until Friday, November 2, 2018, at midnight US EST. During the sale, and for five days only, over 100 archival-quality prints, signed by the photographers or estate-stamped by the estates, are available for just US$100. All images are printed on 15.24 x 15.24 cm archival paper. They are not editioned by quantity, but editioned by time, as these items will not be made available outside the sale window. The images in each sale are always different, and will never be available in this format again.

For the first time this year, the prints are also exhibited at the Aperture Gallery in New York, in a special exhibition hosted by Airbnb Magazine for the duration of the sale (more information can be found here).
