Lowepro’s New SlingShot & Toploader Bags

March 15, 2010: Lowepro will release next-generation additions to its SlingShot AW and Toploader Zoom AW series of camera bags this month.
The new SlingShot AW series provides three models with varying capacities. Each model builds on the inventive design of the original, offering features many photographers are looking for: faster access, extra space for personal items, improved organisation, and the ability to add a tripod. All models provide more space in the upper compartment for extra accessories or personal items and all feature the Hideaway Tripod Mount system with fold-out holder and quick-release buckle for a compact tripod or monopod plus the patented All Weather AW Cover; SlipLock attachment loops and built-in microfibre cleaning cloth.

The Slingshot 102 AW (RRP $129) measures 21 x 22 x 40.5 cm externally and weighs 700 grams. It can accommodate a small-to-medium DSLR camera (up to Canon EOS 7D or Nikon D90 size) with attached standard zoom lens; 1-2 additional lenses or flash units and accessories (including a point-and-shoot camera) plus personal items.
The SlingShot 202 AW (RRP $149) measures 25 x 25.5 x 45 cm externally and weighs 900 grams. It can accommodate a small-to-medium DSLR camera (up to Canon EOS 7D or Nikon D90 size) with attached standard zoom lens, 3-4 additional lenses or flash units and accessories as above. The SlingShot 302 AW (RRP $195) measures 34 x 28 x 46 cm externally and weighs 1.4 kilograms. It can accommodate a professional DSLR camera with attached zoom lens (up to 70-200mm f/2.8); 4-6 additional lenses or flash units and accessories as above.
Lowepro’s Toploader Zoom AW Series offers a weather-resistant, streamlined and easy-access carrying solution for outdoor photo enthusiasts. Ideal for all-day use, these bags include the patented All Weather AW Cover, a customisable and fully padded interior plus a zippered pocket to store extra memory, a UV filter or spare battery. Toploader Zoom AW Series bags are available in Sea Blue and Black.

Three models are on offer: the Toploader Zoom 45 AW (RRP $59), which measures 18.5 x 16 x 22.5 cm externally and can hold a DSLR with attached lens (up to 18-55mm f/3.5); the Toploader Zoom 50 AW (RRP $69), which measures 19.5 x 16.5 x 26 cm externally and can hold a DSLR with attached lens (up to 17-55mm f/2.8) and the Toploader Zoom 55 AW (RRP $72), which measures 19.5 x 16.5 x 33 cm externally and can hold a DSLR with attached lens (up to 80-400mm f/4.5 or 100-400mm f/4.5). All three models provide additional space for memory cards and extra batteries or small accessories.
