September 6, 2005: Lowepro has released a new line of quick-access camera backpacks that will suit sports photographers, photojournalists or anyone who needs quick and easy access to their cameras and accessories.
The new SlingShot 100 AW (RRP $115) and larger Slingshot 200 AW (RRP $129) camera bags have a single shoulder strap plus a securing thinner strap that can be quickly unclicked, allowing the bag to sit side on across the front of the chest where gear can be quickly accessed. To return to the normal carrying position the SlingShot is quickly pulled around to the back and a strap clicked into position. A tuck-away stability strap is provided for additional support and stability, and SlipLock attachment loops provide additional storage for accessories and allow photographers to customise the bag for individual shooting preferences. Other features include silent zipper pulls for quiet access to equipment, and a mesh back pad provides additional comfort.
Both SlingShot AW bags feature a full access lid with a reverse-opening design and built-in memory card pouch that provides quick access and safe storage for memory cards. A microfibre LCD cloth protects the camera’s LCD screen from being scratched. SlingShot AW bags have two generous accessory pockets for cables, adaptors, small accessories or personal items and include Lowepro’s patented All Weather Cover to protect expensive photographic equipment from rain, sand and dust.
LowePro camera bags are distributed in Australia by Maxwell Optical Industries. For details visit www.maxwell.com.au.
