Lowepro’s New Professional Packs

October 9, 2009: Lowepro has added a new series of backpacks and carrying bags for video equipment to its professional photographers’ product range.
The new Pro Trekker AW packs are lightweight, hydration-ready camera backpacks with a premium suspension system. Each pack features adjustable padded dividers, see-through zippered internal pockets and plenty of places to pack camera bodies, lenses, memory cards and other accessories. A ‘Checkpoint-friendly’ laptop sleeve in the front pocket meets to most airline requirements and fits up to 15.4-inch widescreen laptop computers. Each pack has an All Weather AW Cover with cinch straps and rain flap and accepts a removable waistpack.

Designed for outdoor photographers, extreme sports shooters and serious enthusiasts who need a workhorse backpack that travels well, Pro Trekker AW packs come in three sizes:
– 300 AW (RRP $579), which has exterior dimensions of 39 x 36 x 47cm, weighs 3.1 kg and fits a pro DLSR with lens attached (up to 300mm f/2.8) plus 4-5 additional lenses, flash, tripod accessories and personal equipment.
– 400 AW (RRP $599), which measures 39 x 36 x 54 cm, weighs 3.3 kg and holds one or two DSLR bodies plus 4-6 additional lenses and other equipment plus a widescreen laptop.
– 600 AW (RRP $649), which will accommodate two or three DSLR cameras, 5-7 additional lenses, two lash units, a tripod, accessories and additional personal gear plus a widescreen laptop.
Lowepro’s new Magnum DV AW series bags are designed as ‘toolboxes’ for working videographers and feature Lowepro’s patent pending Vertebral Tech Shoulder Strap. They have an extra thick base, dual-winged lid with double zippers and a quick-release buckle plus hook/loop closure to provide fast access with extra security. Both models meet airline carry-on requirements and include a trolley sleeve at the back of the bag plus removable, adjustable hand cart straps on back panel.

Two sizes are available. The Magnum DV 4000 AW (RRP $309) measures 46 x 34.5 x 32 cm and weighs 5.3 kg and holds a compact pro hand-held HD camcorder plus microphones, batteries, additional memory, external storage drives, lighting devices, chargers and personal items. The Magnum DV6500 AW (RRP $349) measures 58 x 38 x 30.5 cm and has an additional laptop compartment. It can hold a professional HD camcorder plus related equipment, as specified for the DV 4000 AW model.
