Successor to the popular Stylus Pro 3880, the SC-P800 has been designed for professional photographers and serious photo enthusiasts and priced at AU$2195 (incl. GST). Like its predecessor, it features flexible media handling and large (80 ml) cost-effective ink cartridges and uses the same nine-colour ink-set as the smaller SC-P600 A3+ model, which was released earlier this year.

Other features unchanged from the Stylus Pro 3880 include the MicroPiezo print head and advanced LUT technology, which together support precise and predictable printing at up to 2880 x 1140 dpi. The ink offers a large colour gamut with the highest Dmax in the market for superior results in both colour and black and white.

The SC-P800 has been designed to be easy and flexible to use shipping with an advanced driver and incorporating a 2.7-inch colour touch panel with gesture control. It features a large multi-sheet rear tray as well as a new front paper path for fine art media. An optional Roll Paper unit can also be attached to allow printing on rolls in widths from 13 to 17 inches, using a variety of speciality media stocks.

The SC-P800 printer ships with an extensive suit of software including upgraded ColorBase2 which enables simple and fast colour calibration using a range of common spectrophotometers. Also included is new Epson Print Layout software which works in conjunction with editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Nikon ViewNX-i to enable fast and flexible output to suit a wide variety of print and display requirements. Pre-designed templates and custom settings are available for layouts and colour can be adjusted to suit different presentation styles. Epson’s Advanced Black and White mode is available for professional work. The SC-P800 also provides soft proofing functionality, supports custom media registration and incorporates a Gallery Wrap mode with a range of edge settings to suit images that need to be frame mounted.

The new body design adds to the SureColor SC-P800’s is well suited to a design studio or home office, thanks to its small footprint and advanced connectivity. In addition to USB and Ethernet connection the SC-P800 is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing users to print photos from connected devices without a wireless connection via Wi-Fi Direct or remotely via Apple Airprint and Google Cloud Print.

The printer ships with a set of 64ml starter cartridges.   For more information, visit http://www.epson.com.au/Prographics/products/largeformat/DisplayMain.asp?id=SC-P800.
