Lexar has released details of the first-ever 1000x CompactFlash memory cards.
Developed to provide professional-level performance the new cards will be available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities and are due to go on sale next month with RRPs of $169.99 (16GB), $299.99 (32GB), $529.99 (64GB), and $899.99 (128GB). They are compatible with all UDMA CF and CF devices and support the VPG-20 specification (which means each card has been tested and guaranteed for professional video capture streams at up to 20MB per second). The new cards deliver a minimum guaranteed sustained read speed of 150MB per second, making them ideal for capturing high-resolution images and recording 1080p full-HD and 3D video.
Lexar has also announced an industry-first 256GB Professional 400x Compact Flash card, which provides a minimum guaranteed transfer speed of 60MB a second. The new Lexar Professional 400x CF card is also available in 64GB and 128GB capacities. The 256GB Lexar Professional 400x CF card is expected to be released in the first half of 2012. Pricing has still to be determined. The new 64GB and 128GB cards will be available in January, with RRPs of $316.20, and $537.50 respectively.
Each Lexar Professional card comes with the latest version of Image Rescue software, which can help users to recover lost or deleted photo and video files, even if they’ve been erased or the card has been corrupted.
