November 9, 2006: Leica Gallery Melbourne has organised an open photographic competition on the theme ø¢â‚¬Å“Life in the Changing Worldø¢â‚¬ .

The competition is open to all photographers and all entries must have been taken with a 35mm camera between January 2005 and the closing date for entries: 9 February, 2007. Digitally altered photographs will be disqualified. Photographers may submit up to three entries and each must be accompanied by a $50 entry fee. All entries must be in the form of 8 x 10-inch (20 x 25 cm) prints. Black borders on images are not permitted. Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form and photographers must mark the backs of their prints with their name and the title of the work.

Finalists will be notified by mail on 13 February, 2007. Each finalist will be required to provide a 13.3 x 20-inch print for framing for the exhibition. The winning entry will receive a Leica M8 camera with lens, valued at $10,000. Finalists will be on show at Leica Gallery Melbourne between 9 March and 4 April, 2007.
