February 1, 2006: Local Nikon distributor, Maxwell Optical Industries, has launched a website that provides information about new products, service and support, news, contests and links to Nikon Club and Nikon School activities for Nikon camera users.

Designed to assist Nikon camera users living in Australia, the new site can be found at www.nikon.com.au and has links to the Nikon imaging Asia Pacific and Global websites. The site currently contains a link to a new PhotoStory Contest that offers a Coolpix S3 camera as a prize. It also has links to an online demonstration, “See What Nikon Speedlights Can Do”, covering the latest wireless flash technologies. Wireless image transfer with Nikon Coolpix P1 and P2 cameras is covered in another click-on link and access to the Nikon Digitutor, which provides basic knowledge, useful techniques, and tips on taking good photos with Nikon Digital Cameras is also provided. You can also find out more about Nikon’s binoculars and sports optics and read the latest service advisories.

A click-on link allows visitors to the site to locate their nearest Nikon service centre, while the Nikon Club link has an active classified advertising section. Advertising equipment in this area is free to Nikon Club members. Ads are displayed for three months from the time of receipt, unless cancelled beforehand.
