November 10, 2006: Australians will be the first consumers worldwide to be able to purchase Kodak’s EasyShare Photo Printer 350, which offers wireless printing from cameras and camera-equipped mobile phones.
The new Photo Printer 350 comes with embedded Bluetooth wireless technology, which allows it to produce 15 x 10 cm (6 x 4 inch) photo prints directly from Bluetooth-enabled devices. It also supports PictBridge direct printing from compatible digital cameras and cameraphones and can be used for printing pictures from personal computers via a USB 2.0 cable. Prints are produced by continuous-tone thermal dye transfer technology and media is supplied in a Kodak Color Cartridge and Photo Paper Kit, which contains 40 sheets of paper and sufficient ink to print them. It takes 90 seconds to make one snapshot print from a computer or 120 seconds from a Bluetooth or PictBridge enabled device. Kodak XtraLife Lamination adds a special protective coating to make prints waterproof and stain-resistant as well as long-lasting.
Bundled with the Photo Printer 350 is Kodak’s EasyShare software, which provides an all-in-one photo suite. RRP for the printer is an affordable $199, with the Kodak Color Cartridge and Photo Paper Kit selling for $39.95.Users of the new printer can select from several fun layouts, and transfer text from their camera phones directly to the printer and onto the photo.
