May 7, 2005: Kodak has released details of four new digital cameras that will go on sale in Australia within the next three months.
Two new models have been added to Kodak’s EasyShare Z-Series digital camera range, both featuring 5-megapixel CCD sensors. The EasyShare Z7590 (RRP $699) has a Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 10x optical zoom lens with a focal length range equivalent to 38-380mm on a 35mm camera. Equipped with both automatic and manual settings, it is the first Z-Series camera to feature flash sync connection. A live histogram display allows users to gauge exposure levels before taking a shot. The EasyShare Z7590 camera will be available in Australia in July 2005.
The new Kodak EasyShare Z730 (RRP $549) features a Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 4x optical zoom lens (33-132 mm equivalent) and sports a large 2.2-inch high-resolution LCD screen. Continuous autofocusing supports a click-to-capture time of 0.2 second, allowing users to freeze action at a desired moment, while the lithium-ion battery delivers extended shoot times and rapid recharging. The EasyShare Z730 camera will be available in Australia in May 2005.

Also due for release this month is the EasyShare C340 camera (RRP $399), which combines a 5-megapixel CCD with fully automatic point-and-shoot convenience. Sixteen scene and colour modes make it easy to take pictures in most situations and a new on-camera cropping function simplifies shot composition. The C340 records video at VGA resolution with sound and is always ready to snap a shot when the shutter button is pressed, regardless of which capture mode or menu is active.
Due for release in early June, the EasyShare C300 digital camera (RRP $149) is a simple and affordable camera for consumers interested in exploring digital photography. Features include a 3.2-megapixel sensor, Kodak 37 mm (equivalent) lens, 5x digital zoom, bright 1.5-inch LCD screen and on-camera share button for direct sharing of pictures by e-mail, or as prints made at home, online, or at a retail location.
The new cameras are compatible with Kodak’s EasyShare line of printer docks that allow prints to be made directly from the camera. For full details of these new cameras and Kodak’s EasyShare digital photography system, visit www.kodak.com.au/go/EasyShare.
