August 8, 2007: Travel-centric website, iloho, has added a new ‘Landmarks’ interactive image gallery that allows users to browse, upload and vote for their favourite images of travel hotspots around the world.
The gallery has been developed to make travel planning more inspiring by offering users a visual feast of destination information. Members can upload and share their own travel pictures and browse, comment on and vote for pictures submitted by others. Landmarks uses interactive Google maps to geo-locate user-generated images from more than 200 iconic sites. Each landmark has its own photo gallery with user-generated descriptions and comments. Iloho’s landmarks are automatically linked to other neighbouring attractions, offering users further insight into the regions they plan to visit. To ensure iloho’s landmarks list is as comprehensive as possible, registered users are also able to submit requests to add locations via an automated suggestions box. In the near future the Landmarks function will be integrated across the site and geo-coded information will be included in all of iloho’s applications.

Photography enthusiasts are also able to see image metadata for all user-generated pictures. By clicking from the Landmarks homepage (www.iloho.com/landmarks) into a chosen image iloho users can hover their mouse over the picture to call up information on the ISO, the make and model of the camera used to take the picture and whether or to what degree the zoom function was used. Iloho has also partnered with FlyerTalk.com and the WebFlyer Network to enable users to define travel headlines, interact with like-minded individuals and plan trips.
