June 9, 2010: HP is adding a new, entry-level model, the Z5200, to its Designjet Z series of large format printers.
Designed to be quick and easy to operate, the Designjet Z5200 eliminates and automates many of the steps involved with traditional large format printing. A built-in spectrophotometer provides automatic calibration and profiling to ensure consistent colour accuracy and repeatability. The Z5200 also enables fast file preparation, automatic nesting and speedy production. Users can submit multiple files to the printer without having to wait to open an application. The printer’s 160GB hard disk drive provides a large buffer for queueing files and simplifies access when reprints are required.
The Designjet Z5200 can use either 130 ml or 3000 ml cartridges, the latter minimising the need to change cartridges in high-volume environments. Users can set up the printer to re-order consumables using technology built into HP supplies. The built-in PostScript interpreter enables the Z5200 to print all popular file formats. It also supports HP’s Professional Pantone Emulation. Colour images can be output at a resolution of up to 2400 x 1200 optimised dpi with a top speed of 5.1 minutes per A1 page.
The Designjet Z5200 can print on both sheet and roll paper and includes an automatic paper cutter. Maximum roll width is 1118 mm. The printer measures 1770 x 690 x 1047 mm and weighs 86 kilograms. It will be available early next month at an RRP of $11,545 inc GST. For more information, visit www.hp.com.au.
