Documentary photographer, Hilary Wardhaugh, has been named best professional photographer in ACT across all genres.

Ms Wardhaugh, who has won the ACT wedding photographer of the year title five times and was the overall winner three times, works closely with numerous charities and says community work has always been an important part of her life. To be eligible for the title of Epson-sponsored Professional Photographer of the Year in each state, photographers must first win a category. Ms Wardhaugh was named the winner of the documentary category, as well as a joint winner of the 2017 Highest Scoring Print Award. This year, the awards were peer-judged anonymously over the course of two days by some of Australia’s leading photographers including Tony Hewitt, Steve Wise and Shireen Hammond.

In addition to the coveted 2017 AIPP VIC Epson Photographer of the Year Award, entries are also judged in sub-categories covering specialised forms of professional photography including: commercial, illustrative, portrait, wedding, landscape and travel.
