August 8, 2007: ‘Heading West’, an exhibition of the street photography of Andrew Stark, opens at the Liverpool City Library in south-western Sydney on 6 September.
The show is the first of a series of exhibitions to be held over the next 18 months to mark a quarter of a century of street photography by the photographer. Liverpool has been chosen as the starting point as it was where the photographer grew up during the mid 1960s in what was then a semi-rural district. The exhibition presents a selection of film-based images spanning the eighties, nineties and dipping into the naughties. The photographs are in a realist style and include shots taken from Sydney city to her oft overlooked western suburbs.
The exhibition will run until 8 November. For more information, contact Sarah Vyden (Curator) Liverpool City Library by phone at (02) 98219448 or email S.Vyden@liverpool.nsw.gov.au or Andrew Stark (photographer), phone (02) 95201582; email aquarianexistentialist@hotmail.com.
